A collaborative initiative of Kufunda Village, ORAP and TrustAfrica working together to reweave and enliven the social fabric of Zimbabwe.
Dear Gateway Zimbabwe Community,
Hi there! We’ve been moving ahead with our collective work as ORAP, Kufunda and TrustAfrica to experiment with different ways of reweaving and enlivening the social fabric of Zimbabwe and we feel it’s time to look back together and see what we’re learning about building strong and healthy communities.
You’re receiving this invitation because you’ve journeyed with us at some point along the way – whether in the ProcessWork Forumwhere we explored how to work with conflict hotspots, in the Art of Hosting Conversations That Matter trainings where we learned how to host participatory and inclusive spaces for co-creating solutions to our communities, in the System Mapping workshops where together we narrated our deep structure (see Image 1.1) explored what accounts for the health or otherwise of our social fabric and identified leverage points around intergenerational dialogue, safe spaces for community dialogue, community organizing around passion for Zimbabwe, and our socially and economically entrepreneurial youth.
On May 4thwe’re happy to be hosting the Harvest Festival at the Harare Gardens and we’d love to have you join us for a morning of celebrating how our communities are finding ways to move beyond polarity and division and are working together to build the communities we want. In the afternoon, we’ll open the space up to a wider network of friends and well-wishers as we let arts and culture inspire us and drive us to envision and claim the future we hope for. As we all see in Zimbabwe, we cannot wait for anyone else to be the answer to our challenges. Hence our theme:
“Its Us & Its Now – Whatever the Question, Community is the Answer!”
Please RSVP to this email (info@gatewayzimbabwe.org) by April 26th to allow for final logistical planning (you will be reimbursed for transportation into CBD). Your presence is requested for the morning program on May 4thfrom 9am -1pm. Please note that this invitation is specific to you building on your previous participation in Gateway Zimbabwe processes.
From 2pm-7pm we invite you and friends/family members already in Harare who love Zimbabwe and want to celebrate the best of what we are, to join in an afternoon of performances and cultural exhibitions on stage at Harare Gardens. For the afternoon tell your friends and family in to come, bring blankets, mats and set up a spot to enjoy the good vibes. A few food stalls will be available to purchase snacks and refreshments the afternoon.
Sunungura Zimbabwe! Zimbabwe Sunugura!
